PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - One Pikeville man is behind bars after he reportedly broke into someone’s home in Floyd County.

Police charged Daniel Meade, 42, with burglary in the second degree.

It started when Pikeville Police officers were dispatched to 1310 Town Branch in Prestonsburg on Monday.

When police got to the home and went inside, they found Meade as well as one of the victims.

The victim told police that Meade came into their home uninvited and that Meade lunged toward him in the direction of the kitchen.

According to an arrest citation, a short altercation broke out, as the victim was trying to protect a woman and three children in the home as well as himself.

The victim then told police that he was able to tame Meade, striking him until law enforcement got to the home.
