PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - One Melvin woman is facing charges after she was accused of trafficking fentanyl and meth.

Pikeville Police arrested Karen Isaac, 53, on Tuesday in the Jackson Branch Road area in Elkhorn City.

Police were patrolling the area when they noticed that Isaac was not wearing a seatbelt.

After they approached her, they noticed a smell of what they thought was marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Police later found a blue bag placed under the rear floor in the tire compartment, which they said turned out to be more than two grams of suspected meth as well as more than 28 grams of suspected fentanyl.

Isaac was charged with importing carfentanyl/fentanyl/fentanyl derivatives, aggravated trafficking in a controlled substance (more than or equal to 28 grams of fentanyl),
