The Frederick County Board of Education is debating how to respond to impending changes to state guidelines on the family life and human sexuality curriculum, including sex education, once they are finalized.

The board’s discussion last week focused on how the district’s current framework for allowing Frederick County Public Schools parents to opt their students out of the curriculum will mesh with the new state requirements.
