A competitor at the 2025 World Triathlon Championship Finals in Wollongong has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition.

CPR was performed on the man in his 70s after he was pulled out of the water, near the little lighthouse at Wollongong Harbour.

A police spokesperson said the incident occurred at around 10.50am.

A NSW Ambulance Media spokesperson confirmed paramedics performed CPR on the competitor before transporting the man to Wollongong Hospital.
