CINCINNATI —

The partnership between Cincinnati police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol aimed at combating violent crime is yielding arrests, according to Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.

DeWine and Cincinnati mayor Aftab Pureval announced the partnership last month, saying OSHP troopers will be providing assistance to Cincinnati police by carrying out regular violent crime reduction operations. Advertisement

According to DeWine, the partnership between the two agencies resulted in three arrests on Tuesday night.

The first happened around 8:07 p.m., when a traffic stop was conducted on Gest Street in Queensgate. Officers identified the driver as Tyrekis Mitchem, 27, and confirmed he was wanted on two felony strangulation warrants, two misdemeanor warrants, and three traffic warrants.
