GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Joseph’s Provisions Food Pantry feeds the Greenville community every third Saturday of the month, but they may have nothing to give when the time comes this week.

Joseph’s Provisions Director Theresa Purnell says she was expecting more food supplies last Saturday, but when the truck showed up to restock the shelves, it was nearly bare.

“Most of the time, when everything is out, we are out. So, when this is over, we have to shut the door,” Purnell says.

Empty shelves will mean empty bellies.

“It hurts me because we have a lot of people in this neighborhood that really need it,” Purnell says. “Because everything is going up, the rent and the food, and most of the people that come in really need food.”
