NEW WHITELAND, Ind. —
An Indiana teenager arrested in a rape case is now being charged as an adult.
Ariahn Smith, 16, is charged with rape and strangulation.
Prosecutors say a 79-year-old woman was carrying groceries into her house when she found Smith inside her home.
Police say Smith grabbed the woman, put his hand over her mouth and sexually assaulted her.
Smith faces up to 18 years in prison if convicted.
A judge set his bond at $250,000.
