Beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, S.W. Water Street in Peoria will be closed from Main Street to the entrance of the Peoria Riverfront Museum Parking Deck. The closure will last until 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, and is required for the Caterpillar Visitor Center Centennial World Tour event sponsored by Caterpillar.

During this period, through traffic on S.W. Water Street should use S.W. Washington Street as an alternative route. Drivers are advised to exercise extra caution in the 100-200 blocks of S.W. Water Street.

Parking restrictions will also be enforced on the 100 block of S.W. Water Street from 7 a.m. on Thursday until 6 p.m. on Saturday.
