SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Candles burned around the world on Wednesday night to honor and remember babies who died too soon.

Wave of Light hosted a vigil at Springfield’s Maple Park Cemetery. The annual Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day supports families who’ve lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or sudden infant death syndrome.

Nurses helped grieving families. Mourners everywhere lit candles at 7 p.m. local time and kept them burning for an hour to create a worldwide wave of light.
