Governor Gavin Newsom announced the creation of the Governors Public Health Alliance, a non-partisan coalition of 15 U.S. states working to improve emergency preparedness, interstate communication, and science-based decision-making in public health. The alliance expands on California’s existing regional efforts and responds to what Newsom called dangerous misguidance from the Trump administration on vaccine safety and healthcare policy. Newsom said the goal is to protect communities, combat misinformation and ensure data-driven health policies across state lines.
