CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A man is in the Cherokee County Jail after allegedly fleeing the county when he was being investigated for child pornography possession.
On September 4, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) about allegations that Jeremiah James Maldonado was in possession of child pornography in excess of 100 items.
Cherokee County investigators launched a thorough investigation, and sufficient evidence was uncovered to indicate that Maldonado did possess child pornography, according to the sheriff.
Second District Judicial Court Judge Chris Day issued an arrest warrant for Maldonado for Possession of Child Pornography of 100 or more but less than 500 items, a first-degree felony under Texas law.
