DALLAS — Texas is a long way from Sesame Street.

But the Lone Star State's lore still looms large among New York City-dwelling muppets. So much so that a handful of the most beloved characters from that famous streetscape recently made their way to Dallas-Fort Worth as part of a national road trip its cast has embarked upon.

After earlier stops in Indianapolis (where Cookie Monster served as the Grand Marshal and rode in the pace car for the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway) and Nashville (where Elmo performed on stage at the Grand Ole Opry with former "American Idol" contestant Lauren Alaina), the gang stopped in North Texas last week to experience a little Texan flavor.
