NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – North Little Rock police said they arrested a teenage boy in connection with a deadly shooting that took place last month.

North Little Rock Police Department officials said 14-year-old Brentian Baker was arrested in connection with the death of 50-year-old Robert Mathis.

On Sept. 1, police responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of East Bethany Road just before 3 a.m.

When they arrived, officers said they found Mathis suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, be he later died from his injuries.

Over the course of the investigation, police said they identified Baker as a suspect and arrested him on Tuesday. Authorities noted he will be charged as an adult on one count of capital murder and one count of
