MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The University of South Alabama football team is looking to bounce back this season following a loss to Arkansas State.

The Jags are now 0-3 in the Sun Belt Conference and 1-6 in overall play after a one-point loss in the final seconds of the game.

South Alabama committed 13 penalties for 115 yards, contrasted by the 118 yards they threw for.

"You know, I'm not into excuses, but I am into reality. I do like to introduce a little truth to the conversation. And the truth is, it's hard on first and 15 to say, you know what, let's take a shot downfield. And if it goes incomplete, we'll play second and 15," Head Coach Major Applewhite said.

The Jaguars are set to face Georgia State on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 p.m. in Atlanta.
