A 30-year-old pedestrian died after a vehicle hit him and kept traveling on a Chino freeway on Oct. 4, police said.

Officers responded just before 2 a.m. to the northbound 71 Freeway on-ramp near Chino Hills Parkway, where a vehicle struck Cody Genis and drove away, according to a Chino Police statement issued Wednesday.

Genis, of Chino Hills, was taken to a hospital where he died.

Police are investigating the crash and seeking witnesses, video footage and additional information. Anyone with information should contact investigators at 909-334-3045.
