SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — With mental health discussions becoming more of a part of daily life, many seek out services, including the nearly 20% of the Siouxland Hispanic population.

"We get people from different types of cultures," said Mental Health Therapist Diana Castro.

An estimated 70% of Castro's clients are Spanish speakers. She spoke with KCAU 9 about how being bilingual helps break down barriers.

"Bilingual services help families when that new generation is English speaking and the parents are Spanish speaking," Castro said.
