Srinagar, Oct 15: Nearly twenty months after its grand inauguration by the Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), the Habba Kadal pedestrian bridge has fallen into disrepair, sparking growing safety fears and anger among local traders.
Residents and commuters told Rising Kashmir that the bridge’s wooden flooring was damaged several months ago, yet no repair work has been undertaken since. “The planks have come off, making it difficult and dangerous to cross. An accident could happen at any time,” said one concerned local.
