Liberal National Party MP Garth Hamilton has claimed net zero never aligns with the party’s stated values amid a divided Coalition partyroom .

Speaking to Sky News on Thursday, Mr Hamilton said people’s concerns over net zero policy was a "very separate" issue to climate change.

“I don't think net zero ever aligns with a Liberal position,” he told Sky News host Laura Jayes.

Mr Hamilton said the Coalition had three terms of government with three different leaders who took three “very different directions” on the issue.

“By 2019, we're pretty lost, and I think we made some panic decisions. We made some panic decisions that we're now trying to work our way out of,” he said.
