For Wilson’s boys cross country team, the most important color at Wednesday’s Colonial League championship meet at DeSales University was green.

It wasn’t the blue of Southern Lehigh, or the gray and yellow of Notre Dame, the two teams that stood between the Warriors and a league championship. It wasn’t the light blue of a gorgeous sky for the race, or even Wilson’s own light blue and gold.

It was the green, worn as wristbands by every Warrior in support of the mother of Wilson junior Anderson Silfies, Jamie.

“We all ran really well, and we ran with our hearts, not our legs, and we did it all for my mom today,” Silfies said. “We all had our green wristbands on today in support of my mom, who’s fighting stage four cancer.”
