We learned today that White House budget chief Russ Vought expects the number of federal firings to get 'much higher' as the government shutdown continues for another week. A new study shows that the ongoing shutdown is severely impacting the District of Columbia, Hawaii, and New Mexico. This is largely due to the high concentration of federal workers and government contracts in these areas.
