PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A dazzling fireworks display illuminated the night sky over the Delaware River on Wednesday, marking the grand finale of the Navy and Marine Corps 250th Celebration.

The "Homecoming 250" fireworks show, originally delayed due to weather earlier in the week, drew crowds to both sides of the River for a vibrant celebration of military history and service.

"We've really enjoyed our stay here, and this is the icing on the cake for us," said Jacquelin Wilkinson of Liverpool, England.

Throughout the week, Philadelphia honored service members with a series of events across the city. Festivities included a parade down Market Street on Monday and a "Victory at Sea" concert on Sunday , headlined by Philadelphia native and music legend Patti LaBelle.
