ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Jalen McIver made the most of an opportunity in a UNM loss at Boise State last week. The Lobo sophomore defensive lineman was finally pressed into action. Not only did the six foot four 281, 281-pound McIver get playing time, but he also made a contribution.

A few plays after stepping on the field, McIver found himself in the Broncos' backfield delivering a sack. "I ain't going to lie to you, when I got the sack, I was, like, shocked at myself, like, when I sacked him, I didn't realize I sacked him. The whistle blew. I was like, dang, I just got a sack on my first few plays of the game. It was really shocking for real. I was in shock," said McIver.
