Recently, a comment was made to my husband (why not to me is uncertain) that I seemed angry in my commentaries published in this newspaper.
I took that as a compliment.
Yes, I’m angry at what is happening across the world, our country and, yes, in my own backyard. I can’t imagine that, in considering all the unrest, that I wouldn’t be angry — that each of us isn’t angry. And if you’re not angry, then perhaps you are part of the problem.
One of the challenges for a writer of commentary is to make every effort to offset the anger with objectivity. One way we do this is to report truth, facts.
