As Election Day approaches, four candidates for Albuquerque mayor participated in a debate on KOAT, presenting their visions for the city's future and addressing key issues.
4,000 people have already submitted their ballots either by mail or at early voting locations as of Wednesday evening, according to data from the Bernalillo County Clerk.
"I think this debate did give the voters a good sense of who these candidates are," KOAT political analyst Brian Sanderoff said, "I really wasn't surprised that it did become a combative debate."
Sanderoff observed that incumbent Tim Keller, who is leading in the polls, was the focus of pointed statements during the debate. "Tim Keller kept his cool throughout the debate. He focused on defending his record," Sanderoff said.
