FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCBD) - Six Folly Beach city council candidates vying for the selection spoke in front of the community ahead of the upcoming election.
The speakers answered various questions from News 2's Carolyn Murray about their stances on topics and issues relevant to Folly Beach and its residents.
The candidates who spoke at tonight's forum include Jimmy Rawls, William Farley, Annie Whiting, John McFarland, Blair Holladay and Skip Fink.
Major topics included environmental and beach protections.
"You'll see how well positioned we are," Farley said. "The challenges are real. There's a lot of work to do. It highlights six parts that we have to do. One is land management and building codes. Today we've made 25 updates to that which make our buildings more resistant."
