As Ella McWilliam and Megan Carr turned the final page on their HSC English exam, the Calrossy Year 12 students moved a step closer to the once-in-a-lifetime adventure that beckons on the horizon.

The good friends are both embarking on a gap year, and in early 2026 will wing their way to the UK.

Megan has a position at a sport and recreation camp in Ashford, Kent, while Ella will spend the year at Hazlegrove Preparatory School in Somerset.

But before that, they have their HSC to get through.

On Thursday, October 16, they were among 34 Calrossy students - and thousands across the state - commencing the final stage of their schooling journey.

For 18 of the 34, it's a journey which began at Calrossy in prep and for 28, kindergarten - Ella being one of them.
