New Delhi: India has backed its commitment to a 2-state solution for the long standing Palestine problem. The same was reaffirmed by the Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh during a meeting of the NAM Ministerial Committee on Palestine. He made clear that India wants peace in the Middle East.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 19th Mid-Term Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
India appreciates NAM for calling meeting on Palestine
At the very start Singh praised the NAM chair for calling the meeting to discuss the Palestine issue. He reminded the gathering that the NAM Ministerial Committee on Palestine was first established under India’s Presidency during the NAM Summit in New Delhi in 1983.
