A developer has lodged plans to build a 34-storey apartment on top of a notorious Brisbane pub that has sat derelict for more than 15 years.
The Broadway Hotel in Woolloongabba was built in 1889, but fell into ruin after being gutted by fires in 2010 and 2018.
Successive owners have attempted to demolish or redevelop the site, but those proposals were rejected due to its heritage listing.
The current owners have submitted plans to build a $140 million residential tower on top of the pub, which they say would keep the pub's heritage intact.
