Theft: Mayfield Road

A Dollar General manager reported Oct. 7 that a known shoplifter was in the process of stealing a package of earphones.

The suspect had run from the store prior to the arrival of officers but after reviewing surveillance video, officers recognized him as a man, 21, who had been released from the city jail that afternoon.

A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

Theft of vehicle: South Green Road

A man reported at 4:33 a.m. Oct. 8 that his vehicle had just been stolen from his driveway and was traveling northbound.

Responding officers did not locate the vehicle and the man said that he was in possession of all its keys.

The man’s mother had been alerted to the theft when she heard a commotion in the driveway and looked outside to see
