Anticipating Union government approval soon for its Phase 2, Pune Metro has decided to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), an Environmental Management Plan (EMP), and studies for resettlement and rehabilitation for Line 4, which will run from Khadakwasla to Kharadi via Hadapsar and Swargate.

Line 4 has already been approved by the Maharashtra government and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Phase 2 also proposes a spur line from Nal Stop to Manikbaug.

“The construction of Pune Metro Line 4 will commence as soon as the Union government approves. The Pune Metro team is currently completing all necessary administrative processes required before the project can be implemented,” said Chandrashekhar Tambekar, spokesperson for Pune Metro.
