New Delhi, Oct 16: The Supreme Court was informed on Thursday, October 16 that the execution of Indian nurse Nimisha Priya, sentenced to death in Yemen for the 2017 murder of her Yemeni business partner, has been temporarily stayed.

Appearing for the Union government, attorney general R Venkataramani told a bench comprising justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta that a new mediator had taken charge of negotiations in the matter. “The only good thing is that nothing adverse has happened,” he said.
