Supermarket giant Sainsbury's is set to take over a west end M&S which will close its doors later this month.
Earlier this year, Hillhead locals were left gutted when Marks & Spencer revealed it would be vacating from its site on Great George Street, just off Byres Road .
M&S will be closing for the final time on October 25, but the unit might not be closed for too long.
A planning application lodged to Glasgow City Council by Sainsbury's has revealed that the supermarket chain is set to take over the spot.
The planning papers show drawings of the bright orange "Sainsbury's Local" branding installed where the M&S sign currently sits.
A cover letter submitted with the application reads: "The internally applied vinyl signage will be situated adjacent to the main entrance to the st
