ANTANANARIVO – The military has seized power in a coup in the Indian Ocean island of Madagascar and ousted President Andry Rajoelina , who has fled the country.

Sept. 25: Youth protests erupt

Thousands of young people angry at chronic water and power outages protest against the government , prompting a crackdown by security forces who use tear gas and rubber bullets.
