A revolutionary new study could herald the arrival of a 'next-generation' cancer vaccine that not only eradicates existing tumours but also entirely prevents the disease's spread in some instances. The University of Massachusetts Amherst scientists unveiled their findings in the Cell Reports Medicine journal.
Using mouse models, their nanoparticle-based jab was found to prevent melanoma, pancreatic and triple-negative breast cancer. This same jab can also shrink and eliminate cancer tumours, in addition to its preventative capabilities.
