Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the blanket cover.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has launched the blanket cover facility for AC class passengers of Jaipur-Asarva Express at Khatipura Jaipur Railway Station in Rajasthan from Thursday.

This is a pilot project, which has been introduced to improve cleanliness and hygiene. All AC coach passengers will receive printed blanket covers, so that complaints of dirty blankets and foul smell are not received.

The Railway Minister said that if this facility is successful, it will be implemented across the country. Earlier, the Railways had informed that the blankets provided in the bedrolls in AC coaches are washed every month.

Previously, an extra bedsheet was provided in the bedroll kit, which was used as a quilt cover.
