PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) -- A man was arrested on Tuesday in Newsoms, Va. in connection with several charges out of Portsmouth, deputies said.
According to officials, deputies with the Southampton County Sheriff's Office were notified by officers at the Portsmouth Police Department's Fugitive Unit of a wanted suspect residing in Newsoms.
Shortly afterwards, deputies were able to execute a search warrant in the 32000 block of Rochelle Swamp Road, deputies said. As a result, 31-year-old Zeke Rhode was taken into custody without incident.
Rhode was then served with warrants out of Portsmouth for attempted second-degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Rhode is now being held without bond at Portsmouth City Jail.
