KALAMAZOO, MI — According to city property records, the Kalamazoo State Theatre and Harvey’s on the Mall were sold for a combined $1.525 million in September.

The new owners of both buildings, Dan and Holly Carmichael, closed on the two properties on Monday, Sept. 29, one day before they announced the acquisitions.

Neither sales price was disclosed at the time of the Sept. 30 announcement.

The 98-year-old Kalamazoo State Theatre, 404 S. Burdick St., was purchased from the Hinman Co. for $1 million, according to city property records.

The former Harvey’s on the Mall restaurant building, located next door at 416 S. Burdick St., was purchased from RJ Harvey, LLC. for $525,000. The listing agent for RJ Harvey, LLC. is Roger Hinman, president and CEO of the Hinman Co.
