The westbound lanes of I-20 are back open in Grand Prairie after being shut down for nearly 7 hours Thursday morning.

An 18-wheeler was involved in a crash and caught fire around 5:20 a.m. between Carrier Parkway and the George Bush Turnpike. At least one other vehicle was involved, but police reported that there were no injuries

Drivers headed west through the area were forced off the highway and faced delays of up to two hours. Eastbound traffic was also impacted for part of the morning rush hour.

After the fire was extinguished, crews spend hours cleaning up the wreckage. All lanes opened back up to traffic around noon.
