President Droupadi Murmu today met with the Chiefs and Vice-Chiefs of Armies from the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries, who are participating in the Army Chiefs’ Conclave in New Delhi. In a social media post, the President welcomed the delegates and commended the significant contributions made by UN peacekeeping missions in maintaining global peace and stability. The President also highlighted the nation’s steadfast commitment to peacekeeping operations and its leadership role in promoting gender inclusion within the forces. President Murmu said that in the journey of peacekeeping, India has made appreciable strides in gender inclusion. She also noted that the women peacekeepers have empowered local communities and fostered trust.
