OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. —

Troops serving at Offutt Air Force Base are getting extra support during the government shutdown.

The Airman's Attic gives them access to free food, household items, and diapers.

Given the uncertainty of their next paycheck, the pantry has increased the amount of food items each family can get.

"They're supposed to get paid today. I hear some have got paid, some have not. So again, that just stretches those family budgets, and it just makes that time uncertain for them," said John Winkler.

If you would like to help out, there are some food and diaper drives throughout the metro area.

From now until Nov. 3, the Sarpy Chamber will be taking diaper, wipes, and basic baby care items. The drive will run Monday through Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The chamb
