BARTONVILLE, Ill. – The Bartonville Fire Department was called to a home on Jefferson Street, near Madison Street, Wednesday morning on reports of a fire.

Bartonville Assistant Fire Chief Drew Zachman said crews arrived just after 10 a.m., finding smoke coming from the front of the two-story home. The fire started in the basement, at the back of the home.

Firefighters were able to put the fire out within 10-15 minutes.

The Air National Guard and Limestone Fire Departments responded to a mutual aid call. No injuries were reported at the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.
