The scary season is upon us and this year local theaters are getting in on the action.
West Fargo’s Stage West is going small with its production of Stephen King’s “Misery.” Perhaps “intimate" is the better word, as the space is shrunk down to 50 seats to help the audience feel like they are stuck in Annie’s cabin like Paul.

He’s the author of a best-selling Misery Chastain series who is injured in a car wreck in rural Colorado. She’s his biggest fan who finds him and pledges to nurse him back to health. But after he ends the Misery book by killing off the main character, she holds him captive and demands that he write a new story to her satisfaction. What unfolds is a game of cat and mouse in one room. The quarters are so close, audience members can sit on a couch in th
