HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y. (WROC) — It's only been six years since girls could take up the oath and join the ranks of Scouting America — formerly the Boy Scouts. Since then, dozens of hardworking, passionate girls have made their way through, and one teen from our region just pushed the local program past a major milestone!
Ava Youngblut says she’s always had an adventurous spirit, but didn’t always get the opportunities to forge her own path.
"When I was really young, and my brother was in Scouting — and obviously I couldn’t join — I always wanted to go and do the adventures that he had," Ava recalls to News 8's Mikhaela Singleton.
