The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta police on Wednesday carried out extensive raids on the premises of retired excise officer Dharmendra Singh Bhadoria, unearthing assets worth Rs 18.59 crore, several times higher than his known income during nearly four decades of service.

The searches were conducted simultaneously at eight locations, seven in Indore and one in Gwalior, following a complaint of disproportionate assets, said Lokayukta Police Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Sunil Talan.

Bhadoria, who retired on August 31 this year as the district excise officer of Alirajpur, had joined the department in 1987.
