Haleigh Mitchell is trying to salvage whatever she can from a place she has known her whole life.

"I grew up here," said Mitchell. "I rode my tractor around the booths."

Mitchell's nana, Patty Johnson, is the heartbeat of the Green Country Cafe in Afton. Johnson and her husband built the restaurant nearly 50 years ago.

Johnson continued to run it after her husband passed away.

"She's owned it, ran it, ever since," said Mitchell. "We've told her to stop, and she refuses to stop."

Johnson and the rest of the family are now forced to stop, at least for now, after the place that means so much to them was destroyed in a fire.

Mitchell saw the kitchen in flames on security cameras and raced to get to the restaurant as quickly as she could. Firefighters also got to the scene to put the flam
