The ridge of high pressure that’s been keeping skies sunny much of the week will break down and shift eastward Thursday allowing more clouds to move into the metro area.
The National Weather Service has a frost advisory in place until 9 a.m. warning of freezing temps in the Hood River Valley, Tualatin Valley, and parts of southwest Washington and the southern Willamette Valley. A check of temps at 5 a.m. showed no freezing in the Portland/Vancouver area.
Portland will see cloud cover grow during the day Thursday and a high temperature of about 63 degrees.
A weak front at the tail end of a system to the north will push onshore Thursday evening bringing light rain or drizzle to the coast and possibly into Portland by early Friday morning.
