PORT ANGELES — Ballots for the November 4th general election are now arriving in mailboxes across Clallam County.

Voters will weigh in on two major countywide measures. One is a Charter Amendment that would remove coroner duties from the prosecuting attorney and give hiring authority to the county commissioners. The other, Proposition 1, is a lid lift for the county’s property tax levy — increasing the property tax rate from about 76 cents to 95 cents per thousand dollars of assessed value.

There are also several contested races on the ballot, including city council races, Port Angeles School Board positions, and Hospital and Fire District races.

Ballot drop boxes are open until 8 p.m. Election Night.
