EAST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - A woman was struck and killed by a driver in East Hartford, according to police.

The incident happened around 5:15 a.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Silver Lane and Forbes Street.

Police said the woman was a pedestrian.

“Upon arrival, officers located an older female with serious injuries lying on the roadway in front of 463 Forbes St.,” East Hartford police said in their report. “The East Hartford police and fire departments provided immediate medical assistance; however, East Hartford fire department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased on scene.:

The intersection was closed for an investigation.

No arrests have been made, and the driver of the involved vehicle has been fully cooperating with investigators, police said.
