J&K Govt declares paid holiday on Nov 11 for bye-elections in Nagrota, Budgam

Jammu, Oct 16: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced, paid holiday on November 11, 2025 (Tuesday) in connection with the bye-elections of 77-Nagrota and 27-Budgam Assembly Constituencies. This decision, issued under Government Order No. 1355-JK (GAD) 2025, is in accordance with the provisions of Section 135B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

According to the order, all eligible voters employed in businesses, industries, trades and other establishments will be provided paid leave to exercise their franchise. Employers are prohibited from deducting wages or penalizing employees who take advantage of this holiday. Even those who do not normally receive pay for such days should be paid
