CLEVELAND — Another Thursday, another Drought Monitor update.

We’ve been watching these updates closely since August because dry conditions have been causing drought to expand for much of the state.

Today’s update shows a lot of improvement for our southern counties and basically all of southern Ohio.

Most of the Moderate Drought in our area was downgraded to Abnormally Dry. Moderate Drought continues for counties closer to Lake Erie.

No change for our narrow area of Severe and Extreme Drought for most of Huron and Lorain Counties. The whole southern half of the state saw one level of improvement, which is great. 19% of Ohio has improved to No Drought.
